VIENNA
Figlmuller - Make a reservation ahead of time, they are known for their (giant) wiener schnitzel. Very well-known.
Cafe Sacher - You cannot, CANNOT, leave Vienna without having a slice of sacher-torte at Cafe Sacher. It's in the Hotel Sacher right near the center, and it's my favorite thing. It melts in your mouth, combined "mit schlag," a small dollop of not-too-sweet whipped cream.
Cafe Sperl - I love this classic cafe for ordering coffee, reading, and people watching. It feels like you're in Vienna circa 1950. 10-15 minute walk from the center.
Julius Meinl - shopping in the town center.
Spanish Riding School - take an hour-long tour.
Naschmarkt - can't be missed for food lovers.
At Christmas - don't miss the Chriskindlmarkt at the Vienna Rahaus (City Hall) - it smells like cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar.
